Hello
We are using AMT 12.2.0.139 on our Devices. They get their IP Address from a DCHP Server. For Reqeusting and getting a correct IP the server ist looking for the ClassID.
How can I set specific DHCP Options on the AMT Client?
Best regards,
Andy

Hello SysArch,
Thank you for posting your question on this Intel Community.
To better assist you, please share the following details:
- How many devices are experiencing this behavior?
- Did you configure the devices using Intel® Setup and Configuration Software (Intel® SCS) or Intel® Endpoint Management Assistant (Intel® EMA)?

Hello SysArch,
This is an update to your thread.
When managing Intel® AMT, the client must be configured to receive its IP address from a DHCP server. The DHCP server must have option 15 enabled and matching the local domain suffix of the Intel® AMT client.
We recommend that you review the following section of the Intel® Setup and Configuration Software (Intel® SCS)
- 5.12.1 Defining IP and FQDN Settings
- https://www.intel.sg/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/guides/scs-user-guide.pdf#page=127&zoom=100,82,69
If the issue persists, please share these details:
- A detailed description of the issue these devices are experiencing.
- Are you working on a project? Are you able to provide more information?

Hi Wanner
We have an issue with some of the devices replying with a DHCP Discover eventough the OS already has an IP Address. And it seems AMT is generating that Discover.(Allthough we are still debugging) This breaks the whole DHCP process and it is starting from the beginning = Client gets a new IP.
On the OS the ClassID is set via ipconfig /setclassid * TagName
For debug reasons we wanted to know if it is also possible to set such an ClassId on AMT.
Best regards,
Andy

Hello SysArch,
Thank you for your detailed response. We are looking into your request.
In addition, Intel® AMT devices, by default, obtain their network settings from a DHCP server. Could you please let us know if the devices are configured as recommended in the Intel® Setup and Configuration Software (Intel® SCS) User Guide?

Hi Wanner
Thanks for your response.
The DHCP Configuration of our Clients looks like this.
So FQDN comes from DNS and not DHCP. Currently i do not see which impact option 15 should have to our configuration
Best regards,
Andy

Hello SysArch,
Please find below an update to this thread.
Intel® AMT gets its IP values from the OS when the OS is running and this is delivered by the router Gateway that controls the DHCP.
To address your question about setting up the Class ID on Intel® AMT, unfortunately, the answer is no.
Having said that, could you please attach a picture or short video on how to identify the said issue:
