I have, for a while now, put computer together for a friend of mine. here are the specs atop my head, since I am not in fron of the PC;
Q9500 CPU
DP45SG INTEL MOBO
PVS34G1333ELK - 4GRAM PATRIOT VIPER SERIES
Corsair 750W PSU
NVIDIA 4890 VIDEOCARD (i believe)
The computer works very well with one stick of RAM (any slot), but whenever the second one is inserted(tried diff. configuration), computer is very unstable. A decent voltage increase will allow for a little bit more stability, but not enough to keep the PC up and running under medium stress (locks up, restarts, BSOD, all sorts of problems leading to the RAM). My question is, since I know this has been brought up before here, is there any testing undergoing with this perticular RAM? Should I expect a BIOS fix? Or am I just better to give up on Intel mobos, and look elsewhere for this rig?
Any feedback would be greatly apreciated.
Jon
