Intel Manageability Commander 2.0.345 not installing SCCM console extension

I am experiencing an issue trying to install Intel Manageability Commander version 2.0.345 on PCs with the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Console installed. The installer doesn't give the option to install the SCCM console extension. It seems to be a problem with the logic of the MSI.

We have previously used the Intel Manageability Commander version 1.0.8 and that installer still works and adds the extension to the latest version of the SCCM console 1810, however it doesn't support AMT version 12 clients.

Has anyone had any luck getting this to work? The was previously discussed in https://forums.intel.com/s/question/0D70P000006ANr3SAG without any posted solution.

Thanks

Phill

Hello PKent1, Thank you for joining the community This is a new version of the IMC released last month. We have no reports about issues with the SCCM integration. We will check with engineering for any bugs found. We will appreciate your patience. Jose A. Intel Customer Support Technician Under Contract to Intel Corporation

Hello PKent1, We received the following info: There is a known issue that’s blocking the integration of IMC with standalone SCCM consoles, but if they’re installing IMC on the Primary site server then it the right-click menus should show up after closing and reopening the console. Therefore you should comply with the next requirements: * Has to be on Primary Site Server * Have to start CMD as administrator and run the IMC installer from there Hope this helps. Jose A. Thanks Jose.

That does work, however please note that most people using SCCM in a production environment don't run the SCCM console from the site server.

Hi Jose,

Are there any plans to release a version that works on stand alone consoles?

Thanks

Hello PKent1, To be honest I don't think so. Usually there has been only 1 version available. Since it has been stated the installation needs to be done on the primary site server probably that is the only way the software was designed. Regards Jose A. Hi Jose,

I meant was there going to be an updated version that corrects the issue preventing the SCCM console extension from being installed on stand-alone consoles. This would then reflect what is in the user guide "Selecting the Microsoft* SCCM Console Extension will install Intel® Manageability Commander on the local system, and will add the right-click context menus into the SCCM console. This extension can be installed anywhere that the SCCM console is installed to enable Intel® Manageability Commander to launch directly from SCCM."

Right now the workaround is to install the Intel Manageability Commander on the SCCM Site server using your instructions (i.e. from an administrative command prompt) and then manually copy the two vbs files ( sccmExt-Device-LaunchIMC.vbs and sccmExt-Devices-PowerOn.vbs) and xml files (sccmExt-Device-LaunchIMC.xml and sccmExt-Devices-PowerOn.xml) to the standalone consoles.
