Hi all, I came across this excellent video from Lenovo on their new SMC product. SMC (stands for Secure Managed Client) is Lenovo's new alternative Desktop Solution. Lenovo has worked very closely with Intel using Intel's vPro Technology and Lenovo's own virtualization technologies. The SMC product is result of several years of innovation and breakthrough in client technology.
SMC is a very simple concept – it's a PC with remote storage. Hence to the user it is identical to a PC. While designing SMC, Lenovo had 2 goals in mind:
1. Preserve user's expectation of the PC
2. Cost should be equal or lower than the PC being replaced
