I want to add a single drive to a 2 drive RAID1 array. I have an Intel S1200v3RPL server board. With no support for Server 2008 I have set up Win Server 2019 on the RAID pair. It works fine. I want to add a 4Tb data drive back to the system.

The drive has been in an AHCI system. I wonder if I need to Initialise the drive to RAID before Windows can see it. I hesitate doing that because it will wipe the data. The drive works in another PC without errors and I have backed up the data. Would Initialising work? Or is there another way. I have installed the latest Raid drivers from LSI.

Everyone I have asked can't tell me what to do. I hope you can advise me please.

Additionally, the operating system should be able to recognize the hard drive without initializing it.
