Hello!
I am fine install Intel Media SDK, and use on SkyLake CPU with SkyLake chipsets. It is work fine. But i have some problem with Intel MSS 2017 R3, and SlyLake CPU with B250 Chipset, I am using MSI MS-7A67/B250I PRO (MS-7A67), BIOS A.40 07/10/2017, botheboard and Intel Core i3-6100, CPU. And Ubuntu 16.10. When load i915 module, kernel crash with next error. OS: Ubuntu 16.10, Kernel 4.4 with Intel patches.
This kernel fine worling in GIGABITE H110M-SV-2 motheboard and Core i3-6098P CPU, also on Acer Veriton 6460 with 6100T CPU, and NUC NUC6i5SYK. But all this PC, use H110 "Skylake" chipset.

Hi Nikolai,
The crash happens because you're using unsupported CPU by Intel(R) Media Server Studio. Intel Core i3-6100 is a 7th Generation of Intel processors or Kabylake, not a Skylake as you assumed. Please look at this topic to learn more why Kabylake isn't and won't be supported by MSS. Just in case: Kabylake is supported by Intel(R) Media SDK but on Windows only.
Best wishes,
Anna

i3-6100 it is 6th CPU. It is appens only for this motheboard, and CPU. I am also tested on i3-6100T and i3-6098P, it is vary near CPU, with H110 chipset it work fine. https://ark.intel.com/en/products/90729/Intel-Core-i3-6100-Processor-3M-Cache-3_70-GHz :-)

The problem can come from your B250 Chipset chipset
https://ark.intel.com/products/98086/Intel-B250-Chipset
which is Kabylake targeted, but not SKL,
H110 is exactly SKL targeted.
It can appear it still can wrok, but requires some additional actions, however you need to contact your local supplier support or MSI to clarify compatibility.

Obviously, yes. And in the forum there are about this posts.
Not only does not it work for me: https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-media-sdk/topic/719996
I also tested with CentOS 7.3, and I also get a black screen, I followed GRUB and there are no logs of the kernel.
But how am I supposed to contact MSI if your i915 driver does not actually work?

Nikolai,
Sorry, I don't quite understand your concern.
Why it doesn't work? It works with another boards as mentioned in link you provided and confirmed by you with H110 chipset.
So I suspect it is MSI board(or maybe just bios problem), we are processor company and creating support for processors, but not board manufacturers.
You need to contact MSI about this problem, and if they found there is issue on Intel side, or they need support from Intel with resolving issue, they will contact their intel support, unfortunatelly we are software team and can't help with board problem.

Hi Guys,
Media Server Studio doesn't support 7 generation processors(KabyLake), you can check the following post:
https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-media-sdk/topic/735307
I am sorry for the business decision but I don't want to waste your time.
The checking is at the driver layer so it will fail.
