Enabling hardware decoding with no monitor connected to intel graphics

Hi

I have a problem getting the hw decoding enabled, when having an additional graphic card , where ny monitors are connected.

I have no monitor connected to the intel graphics. Is there a way to enable hardware encoding in hardware with this configuration?

Hi Jan Erik,

Assuming you are referring to Windows version of Media SDK?

Multiple device configuration is certainly supported but multiple graphics devices add slight complexity and is also affected by OS revision limitations. For instance, Microsoft DirectX9 does not really support using the device when monitor is not attached. DirectX11 does support that usage.

This topic has been discussed in several threads on this forum. You can also find details in the Media SDK Developer's Guide document (chapter 4.18) which is part of the SDK package.

Regards,
Petter
