Software fallback code is provided in HW DLL?

If partial acceleration is all that is available (e.g., the > 1920 x 1200 (1088?) in pre-Haswell CPU) the fallback remains in the HW DLL, correct?

In other words, the SW DLL does not need to be available, correct?

I suppose that must be the case since the dispatcher does not load the SW DLL if the DLL fits the specified impl and ver, correct?

So if a HW-capable CPU is available, and the OS graphics driver is there, and everything at session init is matched, then the SW DLL is never loaded.  Correct?
