Hi,

I am having a i7-4770 CPU whose system analysis report is as follows:

The code given in tutorial simple_session is detecting SOFTWARE implementation and API version 1.8. Hence I am unable to take advantage of the HARDWARE accelerated decoding. Please suggest a possible solution. The system has two Windows 10 operating system with two monitors connected via Nvidia graphics card.

Best regards,

Monotosh

Hi Monotosh,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

The processor you have is Haswell architecture and comes with Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics 5200 which supports Intel® Quick Sync Video and is therefore capable of doing video encode/decode in hardware. The additional graphics card you have in your system might interfere with Intel graphics here which we need to figure out.

The Intel® Media Server Studio package you installed here seems to be an older version. Please get the latest which is called “Intel Media Server Studio 2015R7”. Version 2016 is coming soon. After installation please reboot the system and call mediasdk_system_analyzer_64.exe which you find under C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Media Server Studio 2015 R7\Software Development Kit\tools\mediasdk_sys_analyzer.

You should see a report like this:

If the problem still exists, it might be due to the additional graphics card. Remove that card and try again. When you plug-in the card again, make sure that in BIOS the Intel internal graphics device is also enabled.

Please let me know how that worked.
