100% CPU usage while playing games -- Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU

Hello, I'm experiencing 100% CPU usage while playing games, which causes FPS drops, particularly in Fortnite. I have tried running the game without any background apps, but it doesn't change anything. I will attach files with my system information. Please let me know what I can do or if you need me to provide anything else.

Hi, Sanez.

Thank you for posting in our Community. I understand that your CPU is being pushed to its limits while gaming, which can cause performance issues like FPS drops. While all processors have limits, it’s normal for high-intensity games and applications to reach those limits without significant performance degradation. However, excessive CPU usage can lead to FPS drops, stuttering, unresponsiveness, or crashes.

Have you monitored your CPU temperature while gaming? Overheating can cause the CPU to throttle. What graphics settings are you using in Fortnite (such as resolution and detail settings)? Higher graphical settings can increase CPU load. Have you looked at Task Manager or other monitoring tools to see which processes are consuming the most CPU resources during gameplay? Identifying these processes can help pinpoint the cause of the high load. Finally, is your system up-to-date with the latest drivers for your CPU, GPU, and motherboard? Outdated drivers can sometimes lead to performance issues.

Have a nice day!
