A CPU Upgrade

I have the Gigabyte H110M-A-CF with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-6100 CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz, I'm looking to get a better one but I don't know which one is compatible. I've been told this model motherboard only supports the 6th and 7th generation.

Yes, this motherboard does support Intel 6th and 7th generation CPUs.

Good. I've just emailed a carrier in my region, asking for information on the i5 ones. I can't believe how complicated these CPU's are.
