Counterfeit EE80C196KB16 parts?

Our company still uses the EE80C196KB16 PLCC parts in some products.  We recently purchased 1000 of these parts, but worry they could be counterfeit.  They function, but they plastic body is stamped KOREA.  Were these EE80C196KB16 parts ever manufactured in Korea?
