Hello, Porcupine:
SSE 4.2 was first implemented in the Nehalem-based Intel Core i7 product line which is an old product line, by this I mean that this feature is included in the Intel Haswell processors and newer. See here for more information http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Xeon/Intel-Xeon%20E5-1650%20v3.html http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Xeon/Intel-Xeon%20E5-1650%20v3.html, and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Xeon_microprocessors List of Intel Xeon microprocessors - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Amy.
