I want to see if my motherboard is compatible with a core i5 gen 9 cpu

i have a pc with a core i5 gen 4 cpu and my friend is going to give me his core i5 gen 9 cpu and judging by the fact that my motherboard is compatible with a core i5 gen 4 cpu, i want to see if it is compatible with a core i5 gen 9 cpu. Any thoughts?

You need to contact the motherboard manufacturer and ask them what processors are compatible with THEIR bios.

Then, you can select from those processors.

An upgrade processor must be socket, chipset, AND BIOS compatible.
