I bough ram on my laptop in 2022 and today I realized that it's not running at 3200mhz but at 2933mhz. In the service manual at page 30 it says it can support 3200mhz but mines is stuck at 2933mhz. Did I buy the wrong ram?

This is the correct memory and it is running at correct speed. The 3200MHz is downclocked to 2933MHz as detailed on page 1 of the Manual. Also you will find the 2933MHz memory speed on the Product Specification page.

I thought it could be overclocked to 3200mhz sorry. I have another question, do I buy dual rank or stick to the single rank ram I currently have?

Hi Headstong,

Since your laptop supports both single and dual rank RAM, upgrading to dual rank can boost performance, especially for gaming. However, if you’re happy with the current performance, sticking with single rank is fine.

Let me know if you have any questions.
