Intel CPU warranty valid/honored if purchased through Ebay?

Well I didn't see a warranty category so I decided post here. I was pretty sure that Intel will not honor warranty if an Intel CPU is purchased brand new/Boxed/Sealed from an Ebay seller, unless they are an IAD.

Can I get definitive confirmation on this?

I see Ebay sellers claiming 3 year warranty, but when I asked if he was an IAD. His only response was, its a brand new sealed/boxed CPU.

Here is the listing I am referring too, there are others but this was the only seller that responded to my question.

Thanks.

Hello MrTrumpz,

Thank you so much for contacting us regarding the questions and inquiries that you have about your CPU'S warranty period, it will be more than a pleasure to help you out with all the information about it.

Essentially all brand new sealed/boxed CPUs must have 3 years of warranty if they are purchased only through an Intel Authorized Distributor.

If that's the case could make an RMA if the markings (ATPO and FPO) of the unit are validated through:

https://supporttickets.intel.com/warrantyinfo https://supporttickets.intel.com/warrantyinfo

If you do not know where to find this information you can use the following link:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/processors/000005609.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/processors/000005609.html

However if online users (like the ones claiming that they provide 3 years of warranty from Ebay) sell a processor to an online purchaser, they must be in charge of the warranty, meaning that if you run into any issues the original seller from Ebay must take care of the warranty under his/her expenses.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Well, I was pretty sure this was the case. Thank you for the confirmation. I'm glad I didn't make the mistake of purchasing from a non IAD.

If we are buying your product unopened sealed & unregistered from anywhere, why is it a problem for your company to honor the warranty? Just another loophole to deceive your customers? Most people find out that your greedy company has these tactics of getting away with deception only after purchasing your product, you may deceive us on your phone email & your platform but when these cases are pulled up & head to court you will be paying more than you are barging for. For me this was my first build but probably 100s of intel based pcs used between work & home, however since seeing your deceptive plans I will no longer buy or use your product neither through authorized distributors nor computer manufacturers. That doesn’t mean an only year old machine that went silent due to your trash processor will be ignored either.
