Hi, i am having some issues using a laptop with intel i3-3120m @ 2.50 GHz to be straight about it heating up at its maximum - 90 degrees
Celsius. Firstly i noticed when playing a game (when it got hot fan was going at maximum speed and processor speed went down ussually to 800 MHz).
The game of course would start LAG'ing and FPS drop down, while about 10-15 min of playing a game that everything was smooth and had no issues at all.
When just recently i had the same problem watching a 480p movie downloaded to hard drive, the fan wen to maximum cooling. And that really got me worried...
Another notice is that sometimes things just get better, (while playing a game i monitor processor temperature). So sometimes the problem just solves itself, playing a game with graphics set to maximum, the processor seems to work smooth even after 1-2h of playing (stays at ~70-75 degrees Celsius with not maximum cooling, have no idea what could cause that...
I have a hunch that when processor works in maximum temperature it wont last as long as if should.
I tried updating VGA driver (current version: 9.18.10.3165), and the motherboard driver as well.
When not playing processor doesn't heat up past 60 degrees Celsius.PS.: Laptop is brand new bought ~1 week ago.

VGA: intel hd 4000 (no additional one)
OS: Windows 8 64bit

PGA is when the processor is place on the board but you are able to remove it. BGA is when the processor is seat/seal to the board and it cannot be moved.
When you are running heavy processor's applications that take control of the CPU, and use it at 100%, the processor will reach those temperatures.
Intel® has a tool that will test every single component inside the processor and then will generate a report. I recommend you running the tool named Intel® Processor Diagnostics Tool. It can be downloaded at the following link:

In the case the issue persists, I recommend you to contact your laptop manufacture just in case you need to replace it.
