My G2 has a I5 7300U processor with 2 cores (4 threads) but Microsoft  says it is not compatible for Windows 11. it matches all other parameters. but minimum requirements calls for 2 cores or more. can anyone tell me why?

It is Microsoft's rule.  You need:

  • Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 protecting encryption keys, user credentials and sensitive data behind a hardware barrier. TPMs also help facilitate Zero Trust security.
  • Virtualization-based security (VBS)
  • Hypervisor-protected code integrity (HVCI)
  • UEFI firmware
  • Secure Boot

@CoolBook   And that is a hack, and not supported.

Yes, @DSofJohnsCreek should buy a new computer if that "hack" lacks some important support.

When he has problems with W11 running on his computer (and he will), make sure you are available for support, as there is no support from Microsoft or Intel.  The requirements for W11 have been clearly stated.
