Hi, I have a I7 14700k, Asus Rog Strix Z790-F gaming wifi with deepcool aka 620 cooler.
I dont have any bluescreen or crash (yet ?) , but im afraid mine cpu is affected too.
Maybe i should undercloak it in the bios? I dont have any clue how can i do it and which is the best settings for that.
I did install the latest bios version, but its looks like cause more heating.

Hi @allen0246

Just make sure that your CPU is not using too high voltages and that it never reaches 100°C during normal usage.

Okay, I’m just afraid because the bios upgrade 1501->2402 with the 0x125, making + 10-15°C. So my cpu can reach the 90-91°C while in cs2 ( one core reached 97°C)
If I use the bios default settings + DOCP can I have any issue ?
Also if I have to reduce the voltage where can I do it in the bios?

Unfortunately I don't know anything about the latest firmware or BIOS version.

There should be a voltage offset setting. Perhaps lowering the max core frequency might also be worth it.

Try searching for undervolting.

Example, which I didn't watch myself though.

Undervolting an out of the box product should never be needed. Any change to any settings that is not directly applied by MB + Intel should be ignored.

The product should work as advertised. If not RMA it.

Opinion and fact. This is exactly what a consumer should and can expect when buying any product.
There are many laws and regulations for that, and if any company wishes to not uphold those they will have to reap the consequences of that.

Thanks

Hi allen0246,

Apologies for the delay in my response

Just to inform you that not all processors are affected by the Vmin Shift Instability issues. Intel is investigating options to identify affected processors on end user systems.  To be effective, the microcode patch (0x129) MUST be loaded via BIOS update. Please contact your system or motherboard manufacturer for BIOS updates containing this microcode update (0x129).

This latest microcode update will primarily improve operating conditions for K/KF/KS processors. However, if users are experiencing consistent instability symptoms, they should reach out to their system manufacturer (OEM/System Integrator purchase), Intel Customer Support (boxed processor), or place of purchase (tray processor) for further assistance.

As for the overheating issues, have you ever tried any troubleshooting steps to fix this? Please specify the steps.

Have you checked the thermal paste or cooling system of your PC?
