Optimus Mode - Internet Explorer 9 Incompatibility

A few days ago, I bought a laptop with the I7-2620 processor, Sandy Bridge, running Windows 7 in 64-bit mode. The UMA Mode VGA option worked just fine with both the 32- and 64-bit versions of Internet Explorer 9. With the Optimus Mode, a IE9 page would load, fail, reload -- presumably, ad infinitum, but I couldn't wait that long. I've tried the option of using software rendering for accelerated graphics, to no avail. I believe it is a processor problem.
