Which one is the best for me Core i7 820 or Core 2 Duo T9900?

I need some help cause im in a process of building a laptop and I cant make a decision between these processors.

Im a software developer and a casual gamer .

Recommendations and comments would be appreciated.

I7 820 and do make sure you get the laptop with a good NVIDIA or ATI graphics if your going to try to game on it.
