Hi. My CPU is i7 920 2.67 Ghz. Memory types: DDR3 800/1066 at (ark.intel). My question: Can I use 1333 Mhz DDR3 memory without OC? Thanks.

The answer is that it depends upon the platform and the BIOS support. You really need to ask the board vendor this question. In most cases, it will support 1333 memory but run it at the standard 1066 speed. In some case, it will just not work - but this shouldn't damage the board or the memory.

If you are trying to make a purchase decision, I suggest you look around for someone who has some of this memory and borrow it to try before purchasing. Alternatively, some computer shops will test it for you for a nominal charge.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for your answer.

Motherboard: Support for DDR3 2000+/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules.

I wanted to investigate CPU support because the motherboard supports it. Perhaps best to look at 1066 Mhz memory.
