ALTPLL Wizard + Linux

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but:

Anyone having experience with using other Linux distributions to run QuartusII 4.x than ancient Redhat dists ?

I'm using Mandrakelinux 9.2 and 10.1 (and also tried 10.0), and since QII 4.0 the ALTPLL wizard has been non-functional. Instead of starting the wizard Quartus gives the following message:

Error: PLL parameters for the device family Stratix could not be read

(happens for all devices supported by altpll by the way, not only Stratix)

Any ideas ?
