Debugging an executable built outside Eclipse

Hello,

In the older version of NIOS II EDS (e.g. 6.1 or 7.2), the tool Insight made it possible to debug an executable built outside of the standard suite (Eclipse, ...). I'm currently working on a Stratix IV, so the version 13.1 is required, but apparently Insight is not available anymore.

Here is my question : is it still possible to debug such an executable ? How ? Is the command line the only way ?

The use of Lauterbach tools is planned, but the design is not mature enough.

Of course, the executable is built with Altera's compiler (nios2-elf-gcc, ...)

Thanks in advance for your answers

Best regards,

Damien
