Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00007f00 on A2GX260

 I'm attempting to use U-Boot 2013.01.01 to boot a Linux-3.10.31 kernel on a Arria II GX development kit board that is running a Nios II soft-core processor (with a MMU) with a 1 MB JFFS2 partition as the root file system. The on-board flash appears to probe correctly by identifying to two unique erase regions and the view reduction from 65536KiB to 16384KiB is expected. Everything seems to be fine during the booting process until the very end when the system is unable to access the shared libraries followed by a "Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00007f00" error. Where did you install '' in your root file system?

Hi Kazu, 


I have since resolved the problem since my original post. It turns out that I didn't allocate enough space in the JFFS2 partition to for all of the file system. Once I increased the size of the partition, everything worked as expected.  


I assume one possible reason that couldn't be found was that particular file/directory didn't make into the file system when the smaller partition was in place. 


However, I appreciate your reply.
