SoC EDS 17.1 installation freezes on Linux

I'm installing SoC EDS 17.1.0.590 on my Ubuntu 17.10 machine. The Quartus installation is opened in a new window. In it, the bar progresses till the end and the window shows the message that the installation finished. The window does not close and prevents the main installation from finishing. I try to close the window at the X button and a message pops up to send the terminate signal, which I follow. A critical-error message about the Quartus installation is displayed, as expected. The main installation keeps running until the end.

Running quartus from the terminal results in a command-not-found error, and there is nothing related to quartus under /opt

Is there any idea about how to troubleshoot this issue?

Hi,

SoC EDS 17.1.0.590 is supported in Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS & Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS. Try with this versions
