Hi,

I just downloaded the uClinux installer version 1.2 that claims to support the 1.01 release of NIOSII

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>

The v1.2 release is designed to work with Quartus® II 4.0 sp1 on:

Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

The v1.2 release is designed to work with the v1.01 release of the Altera

Nios II Development Kit.[/b]

When I start the installation I get the error "Could not find Altera NiosII Development Kit 1.0 or 1.01 on this system. Please install and run this setup again."

What can I do about it?

I am currently looking into this problem. I assume you guys have the Nios 1.01 installed on your systems?

I have installed NIOS II 1.0 and SP1.

When I start the NIOS II SDK shell I see:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>

...

Welcome to the Nios II Development Kit

Version 1.01, Built Thu Sep  2 00:09:35 PDT 2004

...[/b]

What information do you need to locate the problem?

The installer is looking for specific registry entries that are set when the Nios 1.01 is installed.

It would be helpful if you could email me a couple of registry dumps of the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altera Corporation HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions

To do this, select "Run..." from the start menu and run "regedit". Once in the registry editor, navigate to the paths shown above, right click and export each one to a .reg file.

Email the .reg files to randy@microtronix.com.
