I'm a new user to the Microtronix Development board with Stratix EP1S25F780C6 FPGA device. The problem that I have encountered with this board is that the EPC16 has been accidently overwritten with different configuration, causing the board to be broken when downloading the new configuration. Well, I have a work-around fix that allows me to download the new configuration successfully. However, I was not able to run the example "hello_world" program. When connecting the UART cable and run the SDK "nr hello_world.srec" command, the SDK shell reporting as:
nios-run: Ready to download hello_world.srec over COM1 .... : Press CPU reset on target board .... : Type Control-C ... : Waiting for target .......... And nothing happening after that. The new configuration that I've downloaded using the dev't kit example/standard_32_nios project. I also have created a copied version with the "hello_world.c" built in the external on-board SRAM as well. The result is the same. It seems to me like the Nios processor does not know where to fetch the instruction or something. I've added some output ports to the external flash/sram control strobes and did not get any activity at all except during power-up. So, does anyone have any suggestion/idea why? Your advise is much appreciated! Oh, BTW, my 30 days support with Microtronix has ended and I'm just taking on this job a few days ago. http://forum.niosforum.com/work2/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif Sincerely, DTNLink Copied
