12900KS up to 1.52V

Hi,

I have two new 12900KS here on two different Mainboards (MSI Z690 ans Asus Z690).

Both CPUs (with new BIOS, full stock settings) take up to 1.52V Vcore (maximum, Intel XTU monitoring).

While gaming it shows 1.4-1.47V and under full load 1.35V.

1. question: Is that really normal? Do such high voltages like 1.52V (even If only in light workloads) dont damage the CPU after 4 or 5 years?

2. question: Is undervolting without any OC covered by the 3 year limited warranty of Intel boxed CPUs?

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.  

The voltage you mentioned is under the CPU specification, as the maximum voltage of the CPU is 1.72 V. So, this is normal behavior.

You must know that altering clock frequency or voltage may void any product warranties and reduce the stability, security, performance, and life of the processor and other components.
