Hi Support,
We are testing an 8360Y with a Mobo M50CYP2SB2U. (Board Chipset Intel® C621A Chipset)
We can see that it supports crypto acceleration and on the Family processor page it supports QAT through
- External integrated in the PCH as chipset (where do we find this option?)
Is this an added option for the 8360Y, as above external pch? or is there a device ID to access QAT like in the D processor family?
We do have the OpenSSL/QAT-Engine working with this processor and it gives fairly decent results, to fully exploit QAT do we still have to install a discrete card, we are assuming that additionally provides a 20% gain on hardware offload supporting the 8360Y?
We were lead to believe that the 8360Y had built-in QAT, but that appears to be misleading and it actually only provides crypto acceleration and not integrated QAT features.
The webpages confused us even more with built-in as opposed to options
Crypto Acceleration and AVX512 but no mention of integrated QAT, but we have QAT Engine working with the 8360Y??????
we can see that QAT is integrated on the D processors
