8700k heat

Hi. I'm just wondering is there a way to get the thermal paste inside my 8700k changed that won't good my warranty as it runs hot. I know if you delivered it and change it yourself it voids the warranty. I currently have a closed loop cooler joined up to it and it does a good job, but under load the 8700k spikes at 80c. Is that ok for a CPU to spike at 80c frequently under load? My pc has really good air flow too. Cheers.

You can change the TIM on your processor, and it will not void the warranty. Now, do NOT delid the processor. That is a different situation.

Spiking at 80c is ok. So, I would not worry about changing the TIM

Glad you have good air flow. A lot of users do not.

By the way, this is your processor: https://ark.intel.com/products/126684/Intel-Core-i7-8700K-Processor-12M-Cache-up-to-4_70-GHz Intel® Core™ i7-8700K Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.70 GHz) Product Specifications
