ACS support & IOMMU groupping for Intel CPU (Xeons, etc..)@

Hello,

I can't seem to find any official datasheet or list of Intel CPUs (Xeon mainly, but also for any others) that support ACS (Access Control System) that can have the same numbers of group than there would be PCIe ports.

With some CPUs, there is only one IOMMU group for VFIO and it will mess things up for me. So I'm looking for CPUs with IOMMU groupings that are all completely separate and no issues with ACS.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the information from / through Intel. Only blog posts here and there... I know AMD CPUs work very well with IOMMU Grouping (meaning, there is as many groups as PCIe ports) and we never have had any issue, but we were looking to use Intel CPU and now I'm not so sure it's a good choice.

Would someone know where I should look for that information ?

Hello TFlo,

There is no list or datasheet available that can show you the information you are looking for. My advice is to visit our Intel Product Specifications page (Ark) (https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/search/featurefilter.html?productType=873) and use the Advanced Search by selecting the feature you are looking for and then select what best fits for you.

I would also recommend validating this with the board manufacturer, in order to confirm the compatibility.

Let me know if you have any concerns.
