I have a problem with my i5 6600k, whenever i enable turbo boost in the bios my computer will crash and not boot at all, all my drivers are up to date etc. Is this a fault with the cpu?

@Nermal123, hello there

Before concluding it's a fault with the CPU, let's explore a few troubleshooting steps:

  1. Ensure your motherboard BIOS is up to date. Sometimes, BIOS updates can resolve compatibility issues with CPU features like Turbo Boost.

  2. Try resetting your BIOS to default settings and then re-enable Turbo Boost. Sometimes, incorrect BIOS configurations can cause instability.

  3. Check if your power supply unit (PSU) is providing enough power to support Turbo Boost. Inadequate power supply can cause system crashes under heavy load.

  4. Monitor the CPU temperature when Turbo Boost is enabled. Excessive heat can trigger system instability. Ensure proper cooling and airflow in your system.

  5. Experiment with different BIOS settings related to CPU performance and power management to see if you can find a stable configuration.

Cheers,

Max
