Trying to find out if the Intel i5-6500 CPU has onboard graphics?
Is the Intel Original E97378 LGA1155/1156 cooler suitable for this CPU?

Yes, the i5-6500 has graphics.
You need to verify several things.
First, verify the model number of the old processor.
Second, you say the old processor is socket 1155/1156. The i5-6500 is socket 1151. Although the cooler may fit, you should verify.
Third, I doubt, seriously, your motherboard will accomodate the i5-6500. As I said, it has a different socket. Not only that, but is unlikely that the motherboard bios would support the i5-6500.
You have some work to do before you proceed.

@AlHill Thanks for your reply.
This is not for me but for my son who lives 100 miles away from me and he could not get the motherboard to post. So I wondered if the processor did or did not have graphics. As it turns out he has managed to bent a couple of pins in the socket which could be why the motherboard does not post! He is shipping the motherboard and processor to me to see if I can straighten the pins if not he will have to get a new motherboard!
The processor is i5-6500 is socket 1151as you say, the cooler is
- Heatsink type: model E97379-003, with CPU fan, socket type: LGA 1150/1151/1155/1156. As in this link Heatsink
- The motherboard I am trying to use the processor is ASUS B150 Gaming Aurora which the CPU support page states that the i5-6500 processor is supported CPU
I mostly wanted to confirm if the processor had graphics.

Be careful straightening those pins.
Where did the old processor come from?

I have nothing to loose as the motherboard may have been rendered useless already.
He bought the processor second hand which is never a good idea.
