Greetings to you all...

Just one "simple" question. Please can someone tell me which to trust? To BIOS which says that temp is 46 degrees or Everest which is showing 33 degrees and at the same time showing core1 42, and core2 40 degrees...

My PC: Core2Duo E8400 Wolfdale

MB EP45T-UD3LR

2x2GB Kingston DDR3 (1333MHz)

Thanks for any reply...

Hi there,

The most precise temperature readings will always be the ones in BIOS.

Third party monitoring applications get these values from bios itself and they process it in their own way.

Cheers.

Thanks man for reply...

So, should I be worried? I mean, 46 degrees isn't normal right?

Hi there,

From the link below:

You will see that your system is working at a good operating temperature.Thermal Specification72.4°C

http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=33910 http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=33910

As Unplugged stated that dont rely on third party monitoring software , sometimes you can get some weird cases.

FYI,

For Intel Motherboards:

If the temperature is much over the range then, then you need to check the following:

Do a CMOS clear and Download the latest BIOS and update it.

Make sure that you have a PSU Atx Version 2.2 at least.

Make sure that the chassis is TAC - Thermally Advantage Chassis

Check for proper aeration in the chassis. (cable)

Re-integrate the cpu with new small amount of thermal paste (clean the cpu before)

Check and test the system out of the chassis and see if it behaves the same way

Since you are using a non-Intel board, i cannot comment on their side.

All the best,

Regards,

Aryan
