Can an Intel Xeon Gold 6148 2.0Ghz and an 6138 1.8Ghz work together on a dual CPU board?

Thank you for contacting Intel Customer Support.

 

We do understand that you would like to know if you can use an Intel® Xeon® Gold 6148 Processor and Intel® Xeon® Gold 6138 Processor on a dual CPU board.

 

Please bear in mind that Intel supports and validates two and four-processor configurations only where all the processors operate with the same Intel® UPI ( UltraPath Interconnect) frequency, core frequency, power segment, and have the same internal caches sizes. Mixing components operating at different internal clock frequencies is not supported and will not be validated by Intel. Combining processors from different power segments is also not supported and might not function properly.
