Can i overclock Ram speed with 11600k

I wanted to know if i could overclock my 3200mhz ram to something higher with a z490 motherboard and a 11600k.

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. 

 

 

I would like to let you know that running the RAM above the supported frequency (3200MHz) can damage the processor since this affects the memory controller hub with is part of the CPU. However, if the RAM is running at 3200MHz or less your CPU will be fine or at least it will not be affected by the RAM overclocking.

 

You will be able to set a different speed if the motherboard has the Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP) to chance the RAM profiles(speeds). However, we do not advise overclocking the RAM due to the previous statement mentioned. If you would like to know if the motherboard supports this feature and to get instructions, I recommend you get in contact with the motherboard manufacturer.
