Can't Install Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA) - Fatal Error 80070643

Hello Intel,

I own an old processor laptop i5 2450M. Currently I'm having performance issue and performed a check using driver easy.

I noticed that there are many drivers not updated in my laptop

Hence I went to Intel and search for the drivers.

However I could not install Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA) due to Fatal Error 80070643.

May I know what is the problem? Or any other way to update the drivers?

These are the error log result:

Do not use DriverEasy. It is not supported here.

Tell us what driver you are looking for.

This is your processor:

https://ark.intel.com/products/53452/Intel-Core-i5-2450M-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_10-GHz Intel® Core™ i5-2450M Processor (3M Cache, up to 3.10 GHz) Product Specifications

For your laptop, you should only be using the drivers provided by the laptop manufacturer.

If you are running Windows 10, your processor and HD 3000 graphics are not supported.

Also, performance issues can be related to many things, not just drivers.

AGAIN, DO NOT USE DRIVEREASY AND DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT IT IS TELLING YOU.

Hello Al Hill,

Thank you so much for your reply.

Yes, you are right. I am running windows 10 in my laptop.

If I can't rely on DriverEasy, I would need to use intel DSA in order to verify whether the driver installed in my laptop is the latest.

Does anyone know why I cant install the intel DSA?

Raymond.

DSA has its issues, and is intended for Intel boards/devices. There are also problems with the browser. particularly Firefox.

Now, for the drivers, there is really nothing you can do. There are no drivers for your device on Windows 10 You will have to use the Microsoft provided drivers. If they work, fine. If not, well, that is as much as you will get.

Describe the problem, in detail that you are having. It may not be driver related.

However, the best thing you can do is to update to a new/newer device that is supported on Windows 10, or go back to Windows 7/8/8x.
