I've been round and round with ASUS and they swear that it's not their board, leaving the possibility that the CPU has somehow gotten faulty. The I7-8700K processor works fine if A1 and A2 are populated, so the CPU itself works great. I wonder about its memory controller. Is there a way to test for this? I'm open to any helpful ideas on how to get around this. Since I can't POST if B1/B2 are populated, there's no way to adjust the memory settings for them. With ASUS slamming the door on me, I'm out of idea on how to proceed.
Does Intel repair CPUs?
Thanks,
Jim

Intel does not repair CPUs, but they do replace failing processors within their warranty period. In order to set this up, you cannot do so here; you need to contact Intel Customer Support (ICS) directly. Here is information regarding how to get in touch with ICS, by geography:

Thank you Scott,
I will try to open an RMA with them right away. Hopefully they don't need a bunch of stuff off of the box as I tossed most of that once the board posted and ran for a week or so.
I really appreciate your help and especially the links that you provided!
