Can the I7 5820k handle a 4x16GB DDR4 RAM kit or will I need to use a 8x8GB kit to achieve 64GB?
Planning on using a X99 motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130841 MSI X99A SLI PLUS LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com
This is the RAM kit I was looking at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231966 G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platfo…
I should add that the RAM indicates that it is compatible with the MB, so the processor is the only real question left...

Hello, Stogie1020:
I have checked all the specifications, and it seems that you should be able to get the 64 GB as long as you have a 64-bit operating system and meet these requirements;
However, I strongly recommend to check with MSI if the combination could work, from what I mention before it should, but check with them first since it is possible that more feedback.
Regards,
Amy.
