Circuitry to support 10GBASE-KR to SFI interface from Xeon D-1746TER

I am designing a system that uses one 10GBASE-KR interfaces from a Xeon D-1746TER (Ice Lake) processor.  I need to convert this interface to 10GBASE-SR using an optical transceiver with an SFI interface.  I'm trying to determine the circuitry I need to convert a 10GBASE-KR interface to an SFI interface.  The manufacturer of the CPU board that has the Xeon processor on it recommends using Intel's Parkvale C827 retimer for this conversion. Unfortunately, the Parkvale retimer is designed to handle four 10GBASE-KR interfaces. My design only requires support for one.  Does Intel recommend any other ICs for this application (hopefully a smaller device that handles only one -KR interface)?

Hi Sreelakshmi B,

How do I sign up for developer zone that you refer to?  I already have access to the Product Support Forums (i.e. I posted this to that Forum) with my Intel account.

Sincerely,

Hal

Hi Sreelakshmi B,

Please correct me if I'm wrong, isn't this posting part of those forums that you are directing me to post my question to?

In addition, beside to the Processors forum, I have posted a similar question to the Embedded Connectivity forum under the topic, "Circuitry to support 10GBASE-KR to SFI interface with C827".

So far, I have not received any technical information in response to either posting.

Sincerely,

Hal

Hi Dineshbabu,

Thanks for getting back to me with this response.

It's interesting that you responded that support for the Xeon D-1746TER isn't handled by this forum.  I've contacted the Embedded Community Forum for this case under the topic "Circuitry to support 10GBASE-KR to SFI interface with C827" and was informed that's not the proper forum for that case because the Intel C827 isn't handled by the Embedded Community Forum.

I'm hoping for someone on one of these community forum's to either provide with direct support or to direct me to the proper community forum for this application.

Sincerely,

Hal
