Core i5-6500 WHEA-Logger event ID 19

I built this rig last week and just noticed that I've been getting this warning. The motherboard is an MSI Z170A Gaming M5 with 32GB of Corsair DDR4-3000 memory and an MSI nVidia GeForce GTX-970 GPU and the OS is Window 10 Home x64. I'm not overclocking but I cleared the CMOS anyway and that didn't change anything. The processor passed the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool and the system seems to be operating fine. The description from the event viewer is:

Is this anything I should be concerned about?

Thanks

Hi Mike_Warner,

We have seemed this issue related to a compatibility issue between the boards and 6th gen processors. The problem is already solved with a motherboard BIOS update.

I suggest you to double check if you are already using the latest BIOS and latest drivers.

As a recommendation verify the memory speed in the BIOS, the memory controller is designed to support DDR4 memories at 1866 and 2133MHz @ 1.2V.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the link, there was a BIOS update; unfortunately updating the BIOS didn't resolve the issue, I'm still getting the warning.

As per your recommendation I verified that the memory is set to 2133MHz @ 1.2V.

Hi Mike,

In regards to your WHEA issue, I recommend you to contact MSI and request new BIOS version or any workaround for the problem. This issue was discovered long time ago and fixed with a BIOS update.

I'm working with MSI and they've led me through an extensive troubleshooting process, including updating the BIOS, and are now willing to RMA my motherboard. After I've received and installed the replacement motherboard I'll post back here with the results.
