Country of Origin

I have several Broadwell (E5-2696V4/SR2J0) CPUs and need to determine the COO. Unlike other Intel CPUs, the COO is not stamped on it. Is there a way to determine the COO from the information that is stamped on the CPU? Thank you.

Hello Keithl,

Thank you for contacting Intel Customer Support.

I understand that you need assistance finding the country of origin of your Intel® Xeon® Processors E5-2696 v4.

I will be more than glad to help you today.

There are 3 different options on how to determine the Country of Origin (COO) of an Intel(R) Xeon(R) processor.

Option 1

With older processors, the COO is marked on the top of the processor itself. For example:

Option 2

Look for the Made in information on the label of the product's box. For example:

Option 3

Request the COO by emailing the following information to COO-Customs-Request@intel.com

  • Detailed request
  • Intel Product Identifying Information (provide as much detail as possible):
    • Processor name and number
    • MM#
    • Ordering Code
    • Batch number (also referred to as FPO; required if MM # is not provided)
  • Country where Requestor is located
  • Country where Product was or will be imported if different than above
  • Approximate date of purchase

Hi Sergio.

Thank you for your reply. I received these CPUs used so all I have is the CPU itself, no packaging. And I have received several hundred in this condition. I've attached a picture of one. Is there a way to determine COO from the markings on the CPU? Thank you.
