I'm trying to run vmware on this machine and I can get it to work but it won't run 64Bit quests. It says that it doesn't support VT. So I went to the bios to turn on VT. Don't see it! I can the intel processor tool to see if it supports it and it says that it doesn't. But when I go to this page it says it does.

Can someone help me out? I really need to be able to run 64bit guests on this machine. Thank you for your help. I have the latest BIOS(6100).

So I found out that the CPU isn't supported by my motherboard. I see that the E6700 is and that supports VT. So I buy one and get it, put it in and still no VT!!! I know I won't be able to send this CPU back so I'm hoping there is something I'm missing in the BIOS. XD is enabled but I don't see an option for VT at all! I run the processor id tool and it says I don't have VT support. But both the motherboard and processor support VT, and they support eachother. Am I just being stupid? Thank you for your help.

Supported processors
The Intel® Desktop Board DQ965GF supports a single Intel processor in an LGA775 socket.
For the E6700 processor, the compatibility details differ per processor revision. See the link above for the revision info. Note also the minimum BIOS revison changes depending on the processor revision--you should verify that you have the right BIOS version too.
I hope this helps.
