I have just had my i9 9900k delivered from ebuyer in the uk
Being that it cost me a small fortune and reading problems with them being swapped for core2duo's and such in the past
there was a few things that set off alarm bells in my head
Box had 2 nicks out of it
1st internal security sticker wasnt stuck down
2nd internal security sticker seemed to have had pressure put on the joint
When i took off the black paper lid the clear clamshell just popped up e.g. it wasnt sealed closed (image6)
Nicks on the surface of the ihs (image7)
Compression mark on the ihs (image7)
Did this come from the factory like this
or has ebuyer sold me a cpu that has been opened up
and tested?
If they come from the factory now and then like this then thats fine
but if as i suspect they sold me a used cpu
im not happy about it
and need to take it up with them

I will never understand why buyers come to the forum with buyer's remorse and ask these questions.
If you purchase from a reputable source, you would not have to ask. Now, you want to verify that the processor actually comes like this?
Send it back, get a refund, and purchase from a reputable source.

Looks to me like you have proven that it was opened and the part installed in a system. I would send it back and demand a proper replacement.

It sounds to me that you have convinced yourself that this product was opened and used. Now, I do not want to belabor the point, but a reputable retailer would not try to pass a customer return of such an [expensive] item as new/unused.
Send it back for a refund, or new item.
