Do first gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors support 64 GB DDR4 2666 RDIMM ECC modules?

I am trying to buy a Dell 7920T workstation with Intel Xeon Gold 6146 but it doesn't offer 64 GB DDR4 2666 RDIMM ECC modules in the configuration it only offers 64 GB DDR4 2666 LRDIMM ECC modules. Is that an commission from their sales division or are 64 GB DDR4 2666 RDIMM ECC modules not supported? I was hoping to have a 6x64 RDIMM configuration with possibility to upgrade later to 12x64. I don't see such a limitation on Intel ark.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Intel Xeon Community Support.

As you mentioned, according to ark.intel.com our Intel® Xeon® Gold 6146 Processor supports a Max Memory Size of 768 GB.

Also, the Memory Type supported by this Intel Xeon Processor is DDR4-2666.

However, if you would like to see which specific memory model is comparable with your system our best recommendation will be to contact DELL EMC Support in order to verify those details. I am pretty sure they will provide you the most accurate information.

Have a wonderful day.
