Does the latest Intel IPDT tool support latest Cascade Lake processor.

We need a CPU testing tool for Cascade Lake, and find that IPDT is Intel official procssor testing tool, then the question: does the this tool support latest Cascade Lake processor? From the IPDT support list, I can't find any Cascade Lake processor. Or are there any other tools?

HJian25, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

Most likely, the Intel® Processor Diagnostics Tool was designed to work with all the Intel® processors, however, sometimes, specially with new processors, it takes time for the tool to update the ID data base to properly recognize the processor.

For us to deliver the most accurate response to your inquiry, could you please provide the model of the processor you are referring to?

Hi Alberto,

Thanks for your reply. We are using Cascade Lake SP processors, and our product will use different Cascade Lake processor according to different configuration. From Intel spec we see that Cascade Lake adds new instruction set "AVX512-VNNI" but the latest IPDT does not contain these instructions testing. Could you help to check the schedule when this IPDT tool support the newly added instrcution of Cascade Lake? Thanks!

HJian25, Thank you very much for your comments. As it was mentioned before, it takes time for the tool to update the ID data base to properly recognize the processor, but the thing is that there is not an specific time frame of when the tool is going to do that or if it will support the "AVX512-VNNI" extension. In this case we suggest to keep checking our web site for a possible new version of the Intel® PDT that might include those new additions: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ I will send your comments to the proper department for them to be aware of your feedback.
