E8400 vs Q6600

Need some help determining which processor is better for gaming.

Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q6600 (8M Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)

or Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E8400 (6M Cache, 3.00 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)

My machine currently has the E8400 but I have a Q6600 laying around.

I think the speed of the E8400 makes it better but I'm not very fimilar how Core 2 Duo's stack up vs Quad Core.

The system performance is dependent on the entire system configuration at both hardware and software levels. We recommend you double checking the software system requirements in order to see which processor might be better.

Keep in mind the more threads supported by the processor, the more threads can be ran at the same time without degrading the system's performance.

I also looked on the site below and it appears the Q6600 benchmarked better than the E8400.
