Need some help determining which processor is better for gaming.
Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q6600 (8M Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
or
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E8400 (6M Cache, 3.00 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)
My machine currently has the E8400 but I have a Q6600 laying around.
I think the speed of the E8400 makes it better but I'm not very fimilar how Core 2 Duo's stack up vs Quad Core.

Hello preston_nfs,
The system performance is dependent on the entire system configuration at both hardware and software levels. We recommend you double checking the software system requirements in order to see which processor might be better.
Furthermore, at the following site you will be able to see the differences between both processors: http://ark.intel.com/compare/33910,29765 http://ark.intel.com/compare/33910,29765
For performance information, feel free referring to: http://www.intel.com/performance/ http://www.intel.com/performance/
Keep in mind the more threads supported by the processor, the more threads can be ran at the same time without degrading the system's performance.

Thank you for the reply Karla.
I also looked on the site below and it appears the Q6600 benchmarked better than the E8400.
