Hi, I am trying to set a power cap(power limit) on the Haswell EP, but it seems that I cannot change the register. Is there any way I set the power cap on the Haswell EP?

Are you talking about the Thermal Design Power? (TDP) This represents the average power, in watts, the processor dissipates when operating at Base Frequency with all cores active under an Intel-defined, high-complexity workload.

Hi Phelson,

if you log into your IPMI with the Integrated BMC Web Console and go to Configuration and check then Node Manager you can configure some power Limits to the whole Server. Its also possible to set up an Policy. The new S2600 v3 Boards (Grantley Plattform) gives you some nice Configuration possibilitys there ;-)
