Enabling of hyper-v role on Win2k8 R2 causes a BSOD 0x0000007E (ffffffffc0000096 ....).

I already installed Microsoft hotfix ID 974598 and ID 975530 but it doesn't help at all.

Any idea?

Thanx

Hi,

I've not seen an issue with BSODs on a system with either, an Intel® Core™ i5-520M Processor or Intel® Core™ i5-520UM Processor. These, both, support Intel(R) Virtualization Technology [Intel® VT-x]:

I'd then recommend checking the BIOS is latest version and that the memory on your system complies with the requirements of the board inside. For this, please, check with your system manufacturer.

I had a similar problem on my Dell. The solution for me was to download and install the Win Server 2008 R2 SP1 beta from the MS web site before I enabled Hyper-V.

Hope this helps you.
